I've been teaching enlightenment for over a year now but didn't think unconditional love could be taught directly. Dr. Baer has shown me otherwise. I've studied the subject matter for the last eight years and can say that everything he writes is dead-on accurate and "the way" to true happiness. As I see it, unconditional love, enlightenment, and true happiness are one and the same thing.

This is a fantastic book that contains the Grand Unifying Theory of Happiness. Although the book is primarily about happiness, I consider its most important point to be about anger. I've read it twice in the 3 months since I bought it, and I've read 2 of his other (similar and related) books during that time.

The book has made me reconsider a number of important topics; enough-so that I'm now an (agnostic/atheist) evangelist for it (I suspect that the author is a Christian). I've bought a bunch of extra copies and given them to others.

I can't say that I yet fully understand nor accept all that the author's ideas imply, but the content makes an amazing amount of sense. The concepts can be difficult to grasp; I'm not sure if the book is poorly-written, or if it is because some of our important (but incorrect) beliefs are so deeply-ingrained in us. His book "Real Love in Dating" seems less prone to misunderstanding, and the ideas are presented in the context of dating, although it is not difficult to generalize to other situations from that book. If you are dating, then I'd suggest that you first buy the "Real Love in Dating" book, then consider his other books if it strongly resonates with you. The book "Real Love: The Truth About Finding Unconditional Love & Fulfilling Relationships" definitely has some more depth than "Real Love in Dating". Whatever you do, get your hands on one of them.

Among the people who I expect to benefit from the book are anyone who frequently finds themselves feeling angry, anyone raised in an environment where little affection was shown, anyone who has spent a lot of time worrying about being "rejected", and anyone who is close to someone like this -- so, almost everyone.

In some places you'll see the author make very-strong statements that are hard-to-believe, but a thorough reading of the book usually reveals that the strong wording which he used at one point or the other didn't fully represent his thoughts. Also, in order to get a lot out of his ideas, there's no need for you to agree completely with what he believes.

If you're on the fence about buying one of his books, then you might want to start viewing the first (free) hour of the author's "Essentials of Real Love" video series. You'll need to go to his website, then find the page that lets you click on "Module One". The first 4 minutes are sort of hard to take, in the sense that they're a bit silly. The author's use of personal-space seems kind of weird to me, but the content is great, and this video gives you a very good feel for the first part of the book. -- Most fascinating and helpful book I've ever read
