User Reviews about Little Black Book of Connections: 6.5 Assets for Networking Your Way to Rich Relationships

This is an excellent book. Gives positive and effective steps to help reach out and make new connections in your life. These techneques are good not only for a salesperson but for anyone in the community wanting to expand their contact base. -- Litle Black Book
A very useful book for helping you through business and also just life. Gitomer's premise -- that you need to give before you can expect to get -- is all too often forgotten. This book is a great reminder of ways to get ahead by making people WANT to talk to YOU. -- Just common sense, but I never really thought about it
Definitely a great book on networking -- but that's the minimum you would expect, right? What sets Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Black Book of Connections apart is that it focused not just on how you can make connections with others -- but (and I'd say more importantly) on solid advice and ideas to become a person with whom others WANT to connect! -- Are you a person with whom others WANT to connect?
I have learned a lot from this book. Things such as how to distinguish yourself from others and set yourself as unique and memorable. How to sell yourself, or your product by being prepared, and do what others don't do. The importance of sowing the seeds of your success by giving first, before expecting to receive anything.

I didn't feel like some of the lessons in this book directly applied to me because it seemed the book was written for the salesperson. I know that we are all involve in sales on way or another, but there were times where I didn't feel the book was relevant to my situation in life.

Regardless, I think it is a good read for anyone, and I have bought it again. -- Some golden nuggets, but not what I thought it would be
I teach networking about 3 times a year at various Chamber of Commerce workshops - I always bring my copy of the Little Black Book of Connections and highly recommend that the attendies purchase it. Gitomer offers some down home common sense advice on how to improve your business's performace through improving your network; e.g., write down a list of the top 10 people you want to meet, then build your plan to make it happen, the execute that plan. I sent a copy of this book to a friend a couple of years back - he said he hadn't read a book in years but he read this one twice. It's a good book and you should have it in your library. -- Best Networking Book
