User Reviews about Extending the Dance in Infant and Toddler Caregiving:: Enhancing Attachment and Relationships
This blueprint for promoting attachment and relationships in early childhood settings provides professional caregivers and educators a fine key to developing nurturing relationships with kids. From promoting relationship-based programs that keep teachers and kids together to encouraging connections, this is a fine early learning tool. -- A fine early learning tool
Even though INFANTS, TODDLERS, AND CAREGIVERS by Gonzalez-Mena & Eyer still stands as the definitive book on the youngest of young children, Raikes & Edwards' book takes the typical concepts in these special classrooms (parent/child interaction, parent/teacher interaction, continuity of care, etc.) and puts into the perspective of a dance. It's not a fast dance, but a slow, waltzy like movement in which the partners get use to each other at their own rate over time. It's an excellent way to view infant/toddler relations.
I would definitely recommend checking this book out even if you decide not to buy it. -- An Appropriate Analogy For Infant/Toddler Caregiving
